This is a Brand new S.T. Dupont Ltd Edition Versailles 5 Piece Collectors Set in the Original Presentation Box. This is a Genuine Dupont Versailles Collectors Set with Five Pieces. (50-Sets made) It comes intact with all papers . One of the most visited monuments in France, the Chateau of Verrsailles was commissioned by Louis XIV in 1664 to be a center for the Royal Court. The many buildings attached to the chateau form a small town with a garden facade 575 meters long, one of the largest formal gardens ever created, containing fountains and canals and the King's hunting grounds. One of the chateau's notable features is the Galerie des Glaces or " Hall of Mirrors" which takes its name from the 357 mirrors it contains. From the start Versailles has been as much a showcase of French art and craftsmanship as a home for a King. S.T. Dupont's tribute pen draws inspiration from the chateau's omnipresent sun theme and royal emblems, such as the Fleur-de-lis. White Lacquer and exquiste gold decor, including an 18k Gold nib on the fountain pen, recall the decadent atmosphere of the salons, the baroque-style furniture , and the richly decorated ceilings. Numbered limited editions of 1686 , the date the Hall of Mirrors was opened.
